for the hundreth release on boxer recordings the label owners were able to find someone very special. someone who impressed and characterized them already 20 years ago when both were working in the groove attack warehouse responsible for packing boxes mostly with kruder & dorfmeister records and cds. peter kruder - known as producer, dj and one half of the electronic super-duo kruder & dormeister - delivers the perfect soundtrack for the 100th boxer anniversary party. stylistically confident hes crossing the areas of house, techno and dub and touches even the border of dubstep on the track the sign. the release with the plainly title boxer 100 is not a knockout nor a right punch - boxer 100 is a fleetingly skipping athlete whos strength comes from his verve. just like a certain mr.martiniq 100 catalog numbers earlier.

this is an official reissue of what am i gonna do for fun by the band pitch (1982 - new york city). this release also includes a fantastic remix or rework by tolouse low trax (toresch, salon des amateurs, düsseldorf). a few words from stuart shape, the producer: feels like it was done by another person. i remember getting the serge synthetiser to stay in tune was always a problem. we were fascinated with the new sampling that were just coming out, and kind of got carried away on the vocals. not sure what i was thinking about with the lyrics, guess maybe trying to figure out what i was supposed to be doing when i wasnt working or playing music unfortunately no other finished tracks from that era have survived. they recorded a lot, but finished and saved very little.

tough techno versions, derived from stefan goldmanns synth-heavy a1 film soundtrack. five cuts remixed into the mighty 4/4 grid (mostly). free wheeling hardware synthesis and heavy-handed beats line up for concrete-blasting impact on constructor and a-drive. the b2s spikes is a more loose affair around a scintillating analogue synth riff. contrastingly, inward slope features a warped beat layout and wavetable splashes, sounding like a weeping robot fighting with a cat. roadside lot is a soothing ambient fm tech tool. thats it. on to the next fifty.

deep88 is back! here is a 7 track lp, music without any pretence, no silly fx or crazy compression/production tricks to take away from the music. just that 1988/1993 vibe with a slight balearic twist but some how avoiding to sound like a poor copy or dated. this last statement couldnt be any truer on this release. the vibe is carried through the whole ep with each consequent track then offering something a little bit different, some showing his balearic side and other tracks having a more house feel.

dutch producer casper von banniseht sidles over to bristol stable boogie cafe to present a three-track 12- of impeccable dusty house grooves imbued with that detroit-esque feeling that oozes out of a moodymann or theo parrish record. -bossa- revels in choppy broken beats and plenty of choice samples in a most loose and soulful of concoctions, while -lazy- cools down to a simmer with subtle disco licks making the most immersive of deep house jams. -lone- meanwhile plies a more chipper trade with its hooky chord stabs, but still the vibe remains smooth and laid back, just how the boogie cafe crew seem to like it.

yes, we re back at it again with more eddie amador. after the success of house music and rise, we decided to diversify and go for a double a sided remix package with two distinctly different remixers. so please welcome ardalan and cj jeff to the yoshitoshi family! given ardalans propensity for booty basslines and infectious grooves, psycho x girlfriend seemed like the appropriate choice for the dirtybird affiliate. he flipped the tracked on its head by pumping it full of sub 100 hz frequencies, mental sound effects, and even a pinch of acid. the remix again shows this young gun s talent for creating bona fide bangers that keep the spirit of house alive. greek house don cj jeff took on 6am, the groovy and oft-overlooked 2006 wee hours anthem from amador. his remix bears a massive 808 kick that floors the mix (no pun intended) into overdrive. his simple, catchy melodies capture the classic yoshitoshi vibe beautifully.

next to step up to d edges conceptual label olga is solo berlin artist martin mueller aka youandme. the acclaimed producer serves up three brilliant tracks that, like all releases on this label, are designed specifically with the brazil clubs futuristic styles and sumptuous sound system in mind.

for the second and last ep of contemporary spaces remixes, dynamic reflection welcomes yet another batch of talented producers to the label. just like the first remix ep, it is a mix between household names, and up and comers. first off, it’s perc’s interpretation of glide. the uk based artist, who is known for his use of distortion and aggressiveness, takes it down a notch on this occasion. he has made glide into a echoing and glitchy track that doesn t reach its energy peak until the last couple of minutes. matrixxman takes overwith his biohazard mix of future existence, which contains a tensive synth, confined by a filter that gradually opens,and than closes again, retaining your attention at all times. on the bside, shdw and obscure shape reshaped the hunt to provide the first outright dance floor track of the ep. with its thumping kick and epic pads around the breaks, it’s bound to win crowds over in the club. dutch talent ben buitendijk also remixed future existence, in his own distinctive, hypnotic style. a deep, though energetic track with a very mature sound.

with this new project, madben & yann lean get back to the essence of techno with a raw sound based on groove, textures and catchy hooks. influenced by 90’s rave sound et artists like jeff mills, surgeon, dj pierre, dave clarke or dj funk the french producers like to write their music on-the-fly and are adepts of a very spontaneous track conception. with trunkline they bring back the unique texture of analogic techno. trunkline’s vinyl label will release the duo’s eps. they plan to release one maxi per trimester. the project will also take to the stage as a four deck dj set and then a 100% machine live performance in the summer of 2016.

the first release by parisian iconoclast joakim for his friends and european colleagues at dj tennis life and death records is a miniature nocturne for dance floor meditation, a cascade of unfurling fizzy moods and introspection, finally tuned and expertly rendered by the electronic music maestro. -i met manfredi (tennis) through luke jenner (ex the rapture) in nyc. when manfredi has a few days off his busy touring schedule, he comes to my studio to work with luke on their collaboration project. we usually talk about synths, food, dj gossip and complain about espressos in nyc. about 6 months ago we were eating korean fried chicken and manfredi asked me if i’d like to do something for his label life & death. at the time i had a bunch of club tunes i started working on and somehow had a feeling some of them could be a fit for life & death so i played those and manfredi very quickly picked one, daemon. i thought putting out something on life & death was at the same time kind of odd (and if you didnt notice yet, i like when things are unexpected) and totally appropriat

detroits brainstorm have achieved cult status as a group among underground disco, soul and boogie aficionados worldwide. hot for you lifted from their 3rd lp from 1979 has always been a huge record for the more discerning disco jocks, those who like to dig a little deeper to find the gems. a real dancefloor burner that found favour with everyone from larry levan to daniele baldelli after it s original release. the same can be said for journey to the light, another anthemic slice of midtempo michigan soul that was hugely popular in london on its infamous -rare groove- scene, pirate radio stations and beyond. lifted from the bands second lp and oozing class journey is a stellar cut, truly essential! both of these tracks on one 12- already make this an essential release for any real soul head, but the fact that the versions featured here are private re-edits from one of the true masters of the game s private vaults makes it utterly unmissable. yes, thats right - danny krivit, disco royalty, a true pioneer and re-edit trailblazer adding his unique touch to these incredible pieces of music make this a particularly hot biscuit. danny has kindly opened up his archive and in conjunction with tabu / demon music group brings us these amazing reworkings. both tracks have been lovingly edited and tweaked by mr.k himself with dj s and dancers in mind. 100% legit!

after releases on nowar, terpsichoré and cinematic, french artist the florian muller project gives parisian label escapade their second release. the four tracks span across a wide range of electronic sounds, showcasing the artists rich influences. friday afternoon opens the record with a solid house groove featuring a beautiful rhodes solo. hommage galactique pays a tribute to detroits hi-tech jazz sound pioneered by underground resistances galaxy 2 galaxy. on the b side, the forian muller project leaves out his jazz influences. the hypnotic sounds of frederique conjure up a mysterious, almost jungle-like, ambiance and low tech soul ends the record on a deep and atmospheric techno vibe.
